Station 84 is located in the Ponderosa development on the southern edge of the Spokane Valley. The station serves Ponderosa, Painted Hills, Chester and Dishman-Mica. Full-time career firefighters staff the station on a three-shift rotation. Supplemental response is provided by volunteer members and resident firefighters. Station 84 serves an area of residential developments and small farms. The Station 84 response area has hydrants served by Spokane County Water District 3. Rural areas rely on water tender operations. This station provides secondary response to Stations 82 and 85 and provides automatic/mutual aid response to portions of north Ponderosa under agreement with Spokane Valley Fire Department.
