Station 81 is located on the City of Spokane's south hill. The station is staffed with one lieutenant and two fulltime career firefighters on a three-shift rotation. Supplemental response is provided by volunteer members. A mix of commercial, residential development and small dry land farms encompass 81's service area of Moran Prairie, Glenrose, Valley View Hills, Hangman Hills, the Ridge at Hangman, and Browns Mountain. Much of Station 81's response area is supplied with hydrants served by Spokane City Water; rural areas rely on water tender operations. Station 81 provides additional response coverage to Station 82 located in Valleyford.
