The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Academy announced that Deputy Chief Tony Nielsen successfully completed the Executive Fire Officer Program (EFOP). Chief Nielsen was formally recognized for his accomplishment by SCFD8 on February 11th when Chief Walkup presented him with his EFOP certificate during the District’s annual awards evening. Among the requirements of the 4-year program are written Applied Research Projects in each executive-level course demonstrating application of course theory and concepts to real life situations within the community.
